Spessartite Garnet is a rare and beautiful gemstone that has only been found in a few locations around the world. Prized for its high refractive index (exceptional brilliance) and excellent hardness (7-7.5), Spessartite garnet is perfect for jewelry. The gemstone ranges in color from yellow-orange to reddish-brown. Mandarin Spessartite Garnet is a rare form of orange garnet often referred to as "Mandarin Garnet" for its deep vivid orange color. Clean specimens of Mandarin Garnet (without inclusions or fractures) are very rare and highly sought after by collectors. Recently, very little new material is being found so we are very lucky to be able to work with this beautiful gemstone.
